Scheduled Maintenance

There will be a scheduled maintenance on Monday, April 28th, 8:00 - 9:00 AM GMT + 0 (London time zone). This should result in approximately 1 hour of connectivity loss during the time frame.

We will be moving to a brand new box with an Intel Xeon E3-1270v3 processor (four physical 3.5ghz cores on QPI + hyperthreading + turbo = 3.9ghz per core).

We will also have 240GB solid state drive which will store the server files & database to deliver the top of the line speed on write and read. We will also be having a router restart to increase bandwidth and security.

The brand new server is fully ready and prepared. The long downtime is due to restoring the database on the new solid state drive as well as the router restart.

More information will be released once the update is completed. We thank you for your understanding!

are the pings going to decrease?

You might experience lower pings during DDoS attacks but the general ping will not change. We're based in New York which better serves our more popular timezones. With server location, no one single location will give you good pings throughout the world, you need to target it. We tried out Chigaco, Dallas and even Netherlands before. Chigaco was good for OC, EU but completely fucked the middle east. Dallas was good for OC and okay for EU but gave our friends in Israel and Egypt pings in excess of 500. Netherlands gave our friends across the pond 500+ pings. However, NYC gave the entire server relatively fair and neutral pings.

Pings don't matter much as it used to though so that's not a primary objective for us to improve right now.
