An official SAN News report

It has been around since the dawn of man, and is thus known as "the oldest profession in the world": Prostitution. Sex work. Whoring. Harlotry. All words that describe one thing: the exchange of currency or goods for sexual services. And no matter what the law says, it will never go away, so long as there are paying clients.

In Los Santos and the State of San Andreas, prostitution and various other forms of sex-work are legal and regulated. Employees, always over 18, work in strip clubs or brothels which are subject to government inspection; they must get bi-monthly STD checkups and must not suffer from a mental illness or drug addiction. There is also a field of "freelance" work, in the form of street-walking (selling sex independently), but also, in the more modern and developing form of e-sex work. Both these fields are also regulated, taxed and investigated to ensure client and freelancer are strictly within the confines of the law.

Today, we are taking an investigative look in these different types of work, which are so often hidden to the eyes of the public. As this is a controversial subject that may upset people's faith or sensibilities, reader discretion is advised going forward.

Strip clubs & Cathouses - The Perennial Classics

These are the oldest establishments that host the oldest profession in the world, and are typically well known (even if avoided) to the decent, moral public. Strip clubs typically are tamer and have a no-touching policy even in the case of private lap-dances, white Cathouses (aka Brothels) have a much more hands-on approach, where the client is explicitly playing for sexual favors. Both of these types of establishments are considered to be the safest kind in the sex work business, as employees are insured, have a job-related healthcare plan, and employers are mandated by law to pay them their worth. Business wise, strip clubs and cathouses attract an older clientele; however, it is considered a rite of passage among youths to make a pilgrimage to one of the two major clubs in San Andreas: The Pig Pen Club in Los Santos (featured in our special video report below), or The Pleasure Domes in San Fierro. The latter is unfortunately undergoing a mass refurbishment, following the untimely death of the ex-owner, Jizzy B. This has been much to the benefit of The Pig Pen, which has seen a surge of new clients fly in from San Fierro to Los Santos.

Streetwalking - Bold and Dangerous

Out of all three types of sex work presented in this report, being a streetwalker is the most lucrative, but equally the most dangerous option of them all. Men and women choosing this form of solicitation walk around dangerous streets from sunset all the way into the small hours of the morning, signaling their availability to passing cars. While technically legal provided the streetwalker has declared themselves a freelance sex worker and filed for a STD-69 paperwork with the employment bureau, many choose to forgo the legal red tape and do it illegally, which can net them up to five years in prison for what effectively constitutes tax evasion. In addition, many young women fall pray to gangs and pimps who demand insane percentages for operating in their "hood". However, the payoff is tremendous if one can avoid the dangers an obstacles presented. One such streetwalker in Las Vegas who chose to remain anonymous informed us that she can earn up to 10000 USD in a single night!

"Camgirls" - A New Horizon

There exists, finally, a third option. Modern problems require modern solutions, a wise man once said. In this era, in which we have become inundated in technology, men and women are finding a new avenue to sell sex; the Internet.
Here you will find a bit of everything, with varying degrees of lewdity, tailored to suit any kind of individual tastes: Private webcam sessions, camgirls, booby streamers who only half-play the game, photos and videos on demand, nude snapchat groups...the list goes on and on.
Some people consider this an affront to human decency; some even say this is exploiting lonely, thirsty people with poor social skills, and reinforces dangerous parasocial relationships. There is, however, the counter argument.

Peter Beta is the founder and current chairman of the Society for the Improvement of Modern Pornography (S.I.M.P for short). Peter believes that camgirls have revolutionized the way we look at the sex-work industry, and is in support of their rights to unionize. S.I.M.P donates 10% of their monthly donations to one unanimously chosen "e-girl" each month. In return, they have received very little beyond a jar of used bathwater and a pair of dirty knee-high socks

We spoke with Mr. Beta in a sex shop he often visits, where he buys toys and other gifts as part of his own individual pledge to the women he so idolizes. We asked him what does he gain from this strange and novel kind of relationship.

"Well, first of all, I gain the satisfaction knowing that I am helping uplift and empower women. The bathwater and socks are a plus but I do not expect presents, that's up to her and her boyfriend to decide. Second, I know that if women see me respecting other women like this, I am sure to eventually get a good relationship of my own! Why, maybe, if only Enne Dorphine actually broke up with her current man, I bet she would go for a scholarly gentleman like myself"

We tried to explain to him the dangers of idolizing sex and forming parasocial relationships with women online, but he quickly snapped, proclaiming his love was real and asked we end the interview.

Video Report

As a conclusion to our report on this highly controversial and under-reported subject, we have prepared for our audience a video compilation, from an undercover investigation our very own Karen Dooly performed in the famous Pig Pen strip club. The investigation highlighted some of the darker sides that more traditional sex workers have to endure. As always, viewer discretion is advised:
