At 8pm local time, police set up a checkpoint on the main road at Market Place, as an attempt to stop criminals behind the wheel. Deputy Chief of Police John Mark stated that the traffic checkpoint was put in place to "Catch drivers under the influence of drugs and alcohol, and to check for drivers licenses" which after interviewing Chief of Police Joey Tucker, stated that the Market Place checkpoint did not go as plan, due to lack of staffing, however, did mention that they hosted yet another checkpoint in East Los Santos prior to this, stating it was a great success, arresting at least one male for grand theft auto.*Image captured by Bilbo Baggins*
Police have formed and new divisions; Counter Terrorism and Special Operations Bureau, in which a subdivision was formed known to us as the Traffic Division. This division plans on conducting more police checkpoints around Los Santos in the near future, also specifying that they are working on a tow truck section, which will prioritize cleaning the streets of abandoned vehicles, as covered in the previous article (click here).

It is said that this is the start to a new major operations by the Los Santos Police Department in hopes of reclaiming this city, however, are checking for stolen vehicles and drivers licenses really enough to turn this city around? Are these the changes in which the city of Los Santos have been waiting for from the local police, or are other means such as the arrival of the National Guard still required in order to take back Los Santos?
