What's a drug?

The word Drug, technically, doesn't have the meaning that we usually ascribe it.
Indeed this is the meaning from the Oxford Dictionary.

"A medicine or other substance which has a physiological effect when ingested or otherwise introduced into the body."

As you may notice, the main meaning is completely legal with absolutely no illegal citation. But let's take a look at the second meaning given.

"A substance taken for its narcotic or stimulant effects, often illegally. E.G. Hashish, Cocaine, Marijuana"

The second meaning, obviously, is the one which we will explain in this episode of the weekly. And we will explain the two "branches"of the drug criminology:

  1. Drug Dealing
  2. Drug Smuggling

Drug Dealing

cutmypic.png

Two drug dealers outside the so-called "Drug Den"

First of all, here in Los Santos only 3 drugs are dealt: Marijuana, Cocaine, and Chemicals.
The first one, however, has got a main difference between the other ones, it can be legally kept under 20 grams. This means that the Cocaine and the Crack can get you fined (or jailed) if you have got a gramor more of them. Both of the three can't be used while driving, as you will commict the crime "Driving under the influence". Also, both of the three can't be dealt.

For a more accurate vision of the Drug Circle, the reporter became a "fake" Drug Dealer. He attached himself an audio recorder. This is an transcription after 7 days of work.

"Being a Drug Dealer is like being a pizzaboy, just with illegal stuff to deliver. You go to a client, then you go to another one, and you make your living and your day in this way. [...]
After two days, you know how to do the job and also how to not attract the Police in these dirty affairs. Veterans of this job hide the drugs in the car's trunk. Newbies keep the yay in their pocket. Indeed experienced dealers don't get caught easily.[...]
It seems that the weed is the most profitable plant, if you have the green thumb and the DEA not following you [...]
Never ever try to extract chemicals alone, as my friend told. He almost blew up a campervan after trying to edit the recommended doses of caustic soda. [...]
I never thought about how big the drug business is, yesterday I sold almost 4 ounces (114 grams) of marijuana. And it seems that other dealers sell everyday twice of the stuff I sold in a week."

So in short words, it's really hard, and dangerous. And most importantly illegal.
Just don't try to follow the drug dealing job, it will onlytake problems in your life.

Also, these are the three buildings.

Drug Smuggling

Two drug smugglers on a NRG-500
The drug business starts here, this is the Drug Factory, located in Santa Maria Beach.

This huge warehouse, with plenty of drugs, to supply the 3 "Drug facilities" of Los Santos; and without smugglers, the supply wouldn't exist. But since it's full of smugglers, usually new citizens and illegal immigrants do this job.

Usually, the vehicles used for the smuggling are the most powerful ones, such as Infernus and Sultan regarding cars, and NRG-500 and FCR-900 regarding motorcycles. Note that it doesn't represent all the vehicles. Here, the vehicles count (out of 100)

NRG-500 31/100
Infernus 14/100
FCR-900 11/100
Sultan 10/100
Elegy 9/100
Bullet 8/100
Club 7/100
PCJ-600 6/100
Tampa 3/100
Jester 1/100

As you can see, the First vehicles of the list, but almost everyone in general, hasn't got the space to fit a lot of stuff. This means that the factory - also because of smugglers keeping the drugs - doesn't give anyone more than a crate of drugs per ride.

The routes that the smugglers do are different, and it's not defined. The most courageous ones take the shortest road, that passes in front of the LSPD headquarters, and the most "stealthy" do a longer road, by sacrifying a little bit of time but obtaining less chance to get cops attenction.

Down below this image, these are the most used drug smuggling routes.

As you can see, the three drug routes are pretty similiar for a half of the trip, then the Crack route goes to north, the pot ruote goes to north-east, and the chems route goes south-east.

The three drug routes, doesn't give you the same amount of money. Indeed, the crack route gives you the highest pay, and the other two give you a lower amount of money, because of the different length.

Also, if a drug dealer waits for a long time a drug smuggler to supply a drug building, they will eventually advertize a route to follow, in order to have his drugs delivered, also paying the smugglers for the "favor".

However, remember that every advertizing regarding drugs in general is punished by the law.
