Scamming We last gave an update on the scamming rule in April 3rd, 2015 and since there have been some confusion and questions over what the rule really means. The scamming rule is here to safeguard our community members and to match our policy regarding player interactions. The scamming rule below: Scamming is when you offer a service or product to another player for a price. Once you have received the payment, you do not deliver your end of the deal. • Players below level 8 can not be scammed nor can they scam other players • Scammer and anyone helping with the scam must be level 8 or above • Scammer cannot scam another player over $60, 000 • We do not recover scams if there is a transaction based command available (ie. '/dicebet', '/sellmats' etc) unless they are sensitive items, e.g. Lands. • Real life payment scams are not covered by Lawless Staff • We do not recover donation deals that has been done without a middleman So let's look at what each point means. • Players below level 8 can not be scammed nor can they scam other players > This means that you need to be level 8 or higher to scam or be scammed. The person scamming must be level 8 or higher and the person doing the scam must be level 8 or higher • Scammer and anyone helping with the scam must be level 8 or above > Anyone helping the scammer must be level 8 or above just like the scammer• Scammer cannot scam another player over $60, 000 > You cannot scam over $60, 000. So if the item is worth more than $60, 000 - you cannot scam, the value is dictated by the current economy and the average price for the item. For example; A NRG-500 may be considered by admins to have a value of $500, 000 and thus cannot be scammed as it's worth above $60, 000. • We do not recover scams if there is a transaction based command available (ie. '/dicebet', '/sellmats' etc) unless they are sensitive items, e.g. Lands. > You can only only file a complaint for scamming if a command or server feature is not available to help you complete the transaction (you can also suggest these). However, if there is a command or server feature available (ie. /dicebet, /sellmats etc) that allows you to put a price on an item then you must use those commands. If you're using unsafe commands that requires you to use '/pay' or '/wiretransfer' then we cannot help you.• Real life payment scams are not covered by Lawless Staff > Lawless Roleplay will not enforce, re-imburse or help players who do real life payment deals with other parties.• We do not recover donation deals that has been done without a middleman > For donations, we offer a middleman service. Which is when a player gives their money to an administrator to hold it while another player donates for them. Once the donation is confirmed, the administrator will transfer the money to the donator. The moral of the story is that you should always use transaction based commands such as '/dicebet' '/sellmats' '/sellgun' and etc for your own protection. And if a command is missing then let us know by suggesting it! I hope that this clears the mist of doubt. Unlike all the other roleplay servers out there requiring their players to remember a book of rules to play, we rather simplify our rules and have them automatically enforced. This removes any bias and provides 100% accurate punishments that you cannot argue with. This is why we're better. You may view all the community rules by clicking here. Thanks!
