This can be caused by

-Your SA-MP screens folder exceeds 1000 pics.
-Playing for some hour it normally happens like a SA-MP bug.
-If the folder Screens is read only

Solution:-

-Move or delete the existing pics
-Re-log, /q and restart SA-MP
-Go to Screen folder properties and un-tick Read only option
-Make sure that samp.CFG is not in the directory but in "GTA San Andreas User Files"

I had a similar problem which was caused by my version of windows. I have to press the 'Windows Button' + 'Printscreen Button' to save a screenshot.

Make sure that samp.CFG is not in the directory but in "GTA San Andreas User Files"
In your GTA San Andreas User Files, make a folder called SAMP. In it you should have :
1)'screens' folder
2) sa-mp.cfg
3) USERDATA.DAT
4) chatlogs.txt

If you don't have these, then I suggest you to re-install your GTA or manually copy and paste these files. The reason for your SS not being saved is due to the fact that you simply don't have a 'screens' folder for your game to save the SS to.

Does this help?
