Our mission statement to you...
Lawless Roleplay is, and always, will be a community first and a game server second. We are dedicated to fostering an environment with a member-centric approach where all players have equal potential for in game success and community recognition.

Why play here?
Lawless Roleplay was originally founded on the principle that all players should rise or decline based on the actions of the person behind the player. We feel that success should be determined by a players actions and talents and not the whim of an administrative team. We have great code. We have great staff. We have great players. But most importantly we have a vigilant regard for your potential.

Is this a roleplay server?
We have worked to provide many in game tools for roleplay and it is absolutely encouraged however not required. We feel that any preferred mode of play that does not encroach on any other player’s enjoyment of the game is productive. Due to the harsh nature of game mode frequent player versus player violent interaction should be expected. However, this does not mean that players are allowed to kill other players for no reason.

SA-MP 0.3.7 R2-1 Update Overview

The SA-MP team has released a new update, 0.3.7 R2-1 and we’ve updated to this new version.

Quote from the SA-MP Team:
- Adds protection against hackers who spam OnPlayerConnect messages.
- Weapon ID checking after OnPlayerWeaponShot in case the script doesn't filter it.
- Actors now default to being invulnerable (this might be needed later for a bandaid rotation fix in the client).
- Adds console variable 'conncookies' (int) to disable the 0.3.7 connection cookie system.
- Adds console variable 'cookielogging' to disable logging of connection cookies requested by newly connecting players.
- Adds null value checks to sqlite db_get*. These functions would crash on invalid rows or field names.
- Updates SHA256_PassHash() sha256 implementation to fix a padding problem.
- Fixes an index problem with PVars and SVars where *GetUpperIndex would return 1 when all vars had been deleted.

Website Update
In addition to our recent series of website updates, we have even more updates for the website. In this edition, we have added steam support, updated our user groups, added back the old forum spy, thread views and added adverts back to the site. All these features are a mark of our continuous dedication and obsession to provide Lawless Roleplay members with the best experience possible.

Steam Support
We have added back a very old feature that was available in 2013. Lawless Roleplay is now (again) a registered partner of Steam. This allows our members to link their profiles to Steam, to log in using their Steam details and to register using their Steam accounts. The process is fully safe and we never process or have any access to any of your private data or password. If you already have an account on Lawless Roleplay then you can visit your external account page and link the profile. You will automatically be added onto our list of Steam players and share your profile with other players here. What a great way to make friends!

User groups
We have noticed that many user groups became unmaintained and there was malicious people in some groups. We have increased the security and purged all usergroups. The user groups listed are the only groups you can join, other groups such as the helper groups, senior faction groups (high command or internal affairs), gang leader, faction leader groups etc require an administrative request so we can confirm the identity and give appropriate access.

All user group moderators have lost their moderation rights and will have to reapply via an administrative request.

Spy
The live updating spy page is now once again available for our users. The spy page allows members to see live updates of user actions on the website from new threads or posts.

Advertisements
Lawless Roleplay costs a lot of money to run and operate. We offer a free service to all our members and need to make some money to pay our bills. The advertisements on the website are supported by Google and only show adverts that interest you. We get a small amount of revenue each time you click on an advert and this revenue is then used to pay our website bills.

Highscores
Our highscores are back up and running. You can navigate to it by pressing the tab at the top of our site saying "Highscores" or press here. We have updated it to show the top charity contributors (/charity), and fixed some small bugs.

In order to appear on the highscores you must:
  • Be level 5 or above
  • Not be a General Administrator or above
  • Not be a member of the Hitman Agency
  • Not be banned

Do you want a cool signature reflecting your in-game statistics? We have it!

Greetings lunatics!

As most of you may have known, we were recently hit with a denial of service attack which really put our website and game server security to the test. It is our priority to maintain a stable server for you; the players. Stability comes through obstacles, and what better obstacle for us than an attack? We've upped our security even better than before to provide an even more stable server for all of you to enjoy. We've updated the website to be much faster and user friendly than before.

Today, we are upgrading to XenForo 1.4.8. This release addresses two potential security vulnerabilities and fixes a number of bugs found since the release of 1.4.7.

The two security issues are XSS vulnerabilities. XSS (Cross Site Scripting) issues allow scripts and malicious HTML to be injected into the page, potentially allowing data theft or unauthenticated access. In the notices system, the name token was not escaped as expected. This could allow specially crafted requests to trigger an XSS for guests (or for a registered user to trigger an XSS on themselves). In the filter list system in the admin control panel, dynamic highlighting when filtering did not escape output properly, potentially triggering an XSS against the user viewing the page.

In addition, some of the bugs fixed in 1.4.8 include:
  • Improved performance in the rich text editor.
  • Fixed trophies not being awarded at session creation as expected.
  • Fix certain cases where the image proxy would unexpectedly fail to detect a valid image.
  • Support downloading attachments with UTF-8 file names in IE.
  • Ensure a more correct following count is shown when viewing a member's profile in some cases.
  • Throw an error when sending a warning and only one of the conversation title or message box has been completed.
  • Fix an incorrect permission check over viewing the moderator actions taken against a thread.
  • Fix incorrect logic relating to the DNSBL cache used at registration.
  • Prune drafts hourly rather than daily.
  • Fix a situation where the spam cleaner would not remove replies by a spammer to their own thread.
  • Ensure that there is no default text decoration on <abbr> tags in Firefox.
  • Use a new "simple" BB code formatter when creating snippets for RSS feeds to prevent unexpected code from running.
  • Update the bundled version of jQuery Migrate to 1.2.1.
  • Copying from the template preview in template modifications did not maintain line breaks in Firefox.
  • Fix an issue importing older attachments from SMF.
  • Fix an issue where the vBulletin importer could infinitely loop.

The who's, what's and why's

We are a group of people who have come together to create a fun, laid back and an exciting game environment for what SAMP was intended for. For fun, for shootouts, for chaos. We are all about the chaos, the fun and the excitement SAMP has to offer and most servers surprisingly do not offer. We are going to go by the name 'Lawless RP', short, smart, we are without laws, without restrictions, without a plagued management team. We intend to make this server to revive old memories of what it used to be, the fun, the chaos, the shooting. This may all sound very familiar to you, but know this, we aim to follow it right through to the end.

We intend to spread this image all around the SAMP communities. People will try and find the real source to where this photo is coming from, especially the curious (which is usually everyone!). When they find the true source of the image and its meaning behind it, then they will know what the storm actually means and what it's intended for.

So, why did we actually branch off from ***? It's simple. As a player, you never notice the corruption that lays. You may be aware corruption exists through assumptions and word of mouth, but you're never quite too sure. When you become an admin, these rumors that you heard in the past, were often true. We branched off from what I call a plague. The Management team were powerhungry, money grubbling faggots, simply put. They always introduce the same idelogy when critisised upon this, 'But we aren't like NGRP'. If anyone doesn't know, NGRP is another big community where *** branched off from. Of course, *** would never be like NGRP. Since NGRP is on a whole new ball game of corruption, lies and deciet. But *** is escalating towards it rapidly. Several images of proof are at hand. Not to mention, admins getting suspended for prisoning 'Management' staff on their VPN accounts. Admins getting removed because of them being a certain origin or ethnicity. If management didn't like them, they shouldn't have been put there in the first place. But they like to coordinate the good old NGRP tradition of 'Slave Admins'. By this, no methods of staff retention. Slaving admins to do work even if they don't like them. As the saying by ilija Sani goes, 'SAMP isn't SAMP without drama'.

Server Offenses

Rules are going to belightly enforced. The main ones however that will be addressed, are the obvious ones. Such as hacking, ban evading, CS. Revenge Kill is going to be reduced to 10 minutes to return back. If people cannot do that, they deserve to be prisoned. We reduced it down 20 minutes to contain the excitement the server wishes to fulfill, that we all wish to fulfill. A full list will be drafted and shown to the community and pending feedback from them before we make it offical.

Complaints & Ban Appeals

Another topic that crosses my mind, forum complaints and ban appeals. Obviously, we wish to ensure the server contains its fun, but most of it can be handled IG without the need of streaming tears on a complaint. That is WHY we are removing player complaints in general and keeping only Administrative complaints. That way, people can only complain about the admin team, which they have a right to do if we do something wrong or if they need clarification. Ban appeals are going to remain private and handled through the form system. We don't want anyone's confidential information released and I'm sure we all feel that way.

Gangs & strikes

How will this be coordinated? Strikes won't be issued to gangs, but they have a chance of being disbanded. This is all doing to be handled case-by-case by all the admin team and their input depending on what the gang did and how severe it was. For example, if a leader rage quits and a lot of the players start notoriously hacking, we are in our bounds to disband that family, even if they have worked hard. We are focused more on prisoning players if they do something wrong and fining them their wealth. We don't wish to strike families nor disband them, simply put, gang leaders will be investing millions into their families. Gang owning business, paying for /bandana, HQ, cars, all through in game cash. You have to be recognised and gangs will be awarded. We intend to keep gangs running as long as possible, with only 8 gang slots. Huge variety and more loyal members in one family. It's going to be a great, big thing.

Factions

The notorious SPAS12 and Grenade removal. We are intending to remove this weapon to bring back a more skill based game, rather than blasting full radius and hitting. Once we remove this, we should see a significant change in the way people fight each other. LSPD grenades are also removed. We believe they were too much of an advantage to even think about implementing, let alone experiencing it being implemented on the other server.

We intend to keep factions laid back also. We do not want to appoint people who place harsh restriction on faction members. We do not wish to place such a system where everyone hates the factions simply because they abuse the powers they are bestowed with. We only want a fair and a mutual agreement between the two, faction and gangs. And that is, guns, chaos and fun.

The Donation system

Of course, every thriving community requires a donation system in order to cover its costs to run and maintain the server. We have already listed some ideas, but we want your input as to what would be a great incentive for donators, along with it not being such a huge advantage that it affects the way the economy and players in general work. Don't worry, we aren't going to be money hungry and logs of transactions will be posted in the appropriate sections (most likely the admin section).

Citizen Alpha is our main guide in ensuring the server remains fun and for what it's intended for. None of that so serious LSPD, we all want to be laid back and have fun. After all, we are playing a game orientated and designed for one purpose, entertainment. Games aren't in this genre for no reason. We are what we are. We don't need people being butthurt, being so serious. Why need people who know how to have fun and be laid back. And that's what we intend to create.

Lawless, a new era that should have been an old era, revived.
