We're often faced with a paradox during server updates, we want to have new features that have a member-centric approach. But at the same time, we want these to be new and exciting compared to the other 3, 000 roleplay servers. The more we add new features, the more difficult it becomes to make the next update more exciting. But if we can overcome these challenges, we can make something without compromise. Update 1.2.2 comes with over 100 bug fixes and new features such as the forklift job create an enhanced dynamic environment. It simply makes more sense to teach the script how to make great roleplay rather than teach people to be expert roleplayers. A remarkably simple update that packs a very powerful punch.

Is this a roleplay server?
We have worked to provide many in game tools for roleplay and it is absolutely encouraged however not required. We feel that any preferred mode of play that does not encroach on any other player’s enjoyment of the game is productive. Due to the harsh nature of game mode frequent player versus player violent interaction should be expected. However, this does not mean that players are allowed to kill other players for no reason.

It's that season of the year folks! We're really excited about spending the winter holidays with our players for the very first time. I am happy to announce that this is our first Christmas as a community so we're all super duper excited about what we've got cooking in the pipelines. This is only the start of a series of events.​

From the moment you join the server, you'll notice that we're really in the festive spirit at Lawless with Christmas songs playing whilst you log in. There will be continuous snowing all over Los Santos however this detects your FPS and tackles any lag problems pre-hand. So if you don't see snow falling from the skies, this will be due to your FPS and the script making sure you don't lag.​
Additionally, our wonderful mapping department has worked together to really produce a very festive map customisation all over Los Santos. You'll find Christmas trees scattered around popular hang outs all over Los Santos. And as a very special addition, the Mayor of Los Santos has funded extra Christmas lights all over popular Los Santos places.

Santa's sleigh got hit by AK-47 bullets whilst flying over grove and has crash landed in Flint County! He needs your help to deliver as many gifts as you can. And as a reward, he promises to give the top 20 helpers very special prizes. What you need to do is pick up a gift from his crash landing site and deliver it to Los Santos. Each time you do this, you will enter the raffle. The more times you enter the raffle, the better your chances are at winning one of the top 20 prizes. The raffle results will be released on the 10th January.

There is a present that moves around San Andreas frequently - your objective is to find the present and answer the multiple choice question.

If you get the answer wrong, the present will be moved to another location. There's a possibility that the present will move back to a place where it already has been, so make sure you note where you saw the present, if you find it!

We're known as a community that experiments with unique, detailed and realistic jobs. We took it to the next level in our previous update with the fisher man job. Now we're back to raise the bar and really set the golden standard for roleplay jobs.

The new forklift job is not only rewarding however it has a simple complexity about it which makes the job very dynamic and every single time you deliver a crate, you will experience something different.

We've been playing around with all types of skills such as the fishing or robbing skill. However, we're ready to take it to the next level. The forklift job comes with it's own skill set that comes with an unravelling twist. As you do more deliveries, you gain more experience and work your way up the skill. This allows players to gain more money but it also allows people to get up to 30% extra materials whilst material running. Heaven for the gun dealers.

  • Level 1 Forklift Driving Skill: 0% extra materials and a paycheck ranging from $40-$55
  • Level 2 Forklift Driving Skill: 10% extra materials and a paycheck ranging from $80-$95
  • Level 3 Forklift Driving Skill: 15% extra materials and a paycheck ranging from $120-$135
  • Level 4 Forklift Driving Skill: 20% extra materials and a paycheck ranging from $160-$175
  • Level 5 Forklift Driving Skill: 30% extra materials and a paycheck ranging from $200-$215
If you have a lot of luck on your side, you could have level 5 forklifting driving skill within one hour but all it takes is a streak of bad luck and you'll be back to level 1. Your skill points will deteriorate with time and your luck.

But you may be thinking, so how is this dynamic?

If you are someone who has luck on their side, you could be delivering a crate that could give you a bonus of $10, 000 on top of your pay. This is determined by your skill in the job, your luck and most importantly your notoriety.

Secondly, if you're a lunatic (which most of you are), you could really get into trouble doing this job. If you crash your forklift a lot, there is a chance that you will damage items in the crate which will cost you some big bucks and could even get you fired from the job for life. So if you think you're lucky, you could ram another forklifter off the road which will cause them to get fired from the job.

Tweaks and Adjustments

Administration
The most important adjustment is that the staff and administration team is undergoing a complete overhaul with new powers, departments and a much more organised approach to administrating the community. We want to provide every single person from banned to helper to admin - the very best experience they could have from a community. We now have three very simple departments which range from Public Affairs, Game Affairs and Community Affairs. Public Affairs handles the recruitment of new admins, technology, administrative requests, TeamSpeak and so forth. Game Affairs handles the most aspect to very day living for our guys in Los Santos, this includes management of factions, gangs and civilians. Community Affairs controls the helper teams, ban appeals, complaints and so forth.

Community & Player Tweaks
Lilly, who is our Ban Appeals Manager recently asked the community on a poll "Do you think we should let everyone banned before Christmas be unbanned?" and you guys voted. A whooping 60.8% of you voted that everyone should be unbanned as a community gift to everyone.

I am honoured and proud to announce to welcome back everyone who has in the past done wrong. We hope to open a new chapter with you as a community.

Secondly, Vinay has recently opened up a competition for the Chief Designer position. All you have to do is design a logo for Lawless and post it on the thread. The best designer will be awarded the Chief Designer position.

It simply makes more sense to teach the script how to make great roleplay rather than teach people to be expert roleplayers. Lawless Roleplay has always been forward thinking. And that's exactly what the update 1.2.1 is now. The robbery and fishing jobs are pioneering. The anti-cheat is innovative. Lawless Roleplay is ahead of its time. These features are all at the service of people. Not the other way round. And they're evidence that innovation can prevail over rampant updates. That's progress. And that's a beautiful thing.

We believe that all our members should experience smooth gameplay and interaction between another. For the past few weeks, we have been working extremely hard to iron out from very irritable issues for our members. This may be a small update but it has great significance towards what we are aiming to accomplish with Lawless Roleplay.

Update 1.2 Overview
Turfs vs Points

The turf system has been completely recreated from scratch to provide the community with a much more enhanced and rich competitive environment. The turf claiming system does not require rivals to be dead to claim nor does it require a certain amount of gang members on a turf. It's now less complex and more fun. You need to stand still at a point for 10 seconds whilst you tag the turf. You then must protect the turf and make sure that other gangs do not remove your tag and replace it with theirs for 15 minutes. It’s mind blowing! The competition for the incredible perks is now off the chain.

Fisher Man job

We experimented with our ability to create rich and enhanced jobs in Update 1.1 with the garbage man, miner and lumber jack jobs. In this update, we even take it on another level.

We realised that players really enjoy problem solving and completing missions. However, until now, these were only available in separate jobs. The new fisher man job combines problem solving and completing missions to offer the richest experience ever!

Once you join the Fisher Man job which is found opposite the News Building (/findjob), you are required to purchase a net which comes in 3 different sizes, large, medium and small. The net size is vital on the weight of fishes you can carry. Once you have purchased a net, you can sail into the deep southern sea of Los Santos and start your fishing expedition. You are required to problem solve around the weight of all your fishes and making sure that your net doesn't break whilst you complete missions to go to schools of fishes within a reasonable amount of time. Once you have completed the expedition, you can go back to the sore and sell your fishes. The price of fishes are completely dynamic based on what the economy needs.

For example, if a lot of people are buying food at Burger Shot, the price of Dolphin and Sharks go up whilst the price of crabs go down.

Combat Shotgun turf perk

Gangs who tag and claim a turf with the combat shotgun perk will enjoy the ability to /sellgun spas-12 for 5, 000 materials. However, if the police shut down the turf, they will then have the ability to purchase the spas-12 from their lockers for $4, 500! Competition has never been this fun! Not to mention that you can store the spas-12 in vehicle trunks, houses and gang safes - just like any other gun!

Extortion turf perk

Gangs who now claim and tag the Idlewood turf will have the privilege of extorting all weapon, cocaine, weed and chemical sales done within their turfs. The seller will be requested to pay a staggering 50% tax.

Business Robbery!

Looking for fast illegal money? You can now rob business stores for products or even cash! If the business owner is online, you can rob the business's safe and tills! Or you can simply steal a batch of weapons, condoms or even bubblegum! Let the robbery heists begin!

This also triggers a brand new house robbery system. GTA V isn't the only game with robberies!

C.O.C.K. Version 2.0

Our Coded Observation Cheat K-Liner (anti-cheat) has been updated to version 2.0. It can now detect players who exploit animations, heal during gun fights and many new hack detection modules included. We hope that our latest version of COCK brings a more smooth gameplay to our community.

Blindfolds!

You can now go to any 24/7 stores and purchase a cloth. You can then blindfold yourself or someone else. If they're tied, they will not be able to remove the blindfold however if their not tied, they can remove it!

Robbery & Fishing skills

The new robbery skill allow players to focus their gameplay and become rich by conducting a series of complex and exciting robberies. You can finally now purchase that dream car and dream house - it's time you lived the American dream!

You gain the following amount of skill points:
  • 25 points for successfully robbing the bank
  • 5 points for joining a bank robbery or robbing a business store for money
  • 4 points for robbing a business store for items
  • 3 points for robbing a house
  • 2 points for picking a house lock
  • 1 point for picking a vehicle lock
However, you can lose robbery skill points by being arrested or sent to the Los Santos Correctional Facility!

You gain the following bonuses for having a high robbery skill:

House and business item robbery skill bonus:
  • Level 1: $0 bonus
  • Level 2: $20 bonus
  • Level 3: $30 bonus
  • Level 4: $45 bonus

The higher your fishing skill, the less likely and the longer it will take for your fishing net to break when overloaded. You gain fishing skill points by starting fishing expeditions.

Picking house locks!

Picking house locks have been at Lawless Roleplay since Update 1.1 but in Update 1.2, we take it even further. You can break into houses and vehicles by picking the lock. You also have a new robbery skill which relies heavily on how often you rob banks, businesses, houses and pick locks! More detail about this skill below.

Donations!

We are very happy to announce that the Rose donation pack has been decreased to $10 a month. This is because we are now introducing a new donation pack, Ivy. Ivy donators will have the ability to /sellgun spas-12, unlimited access to /repair, /nos, /hyd and /fix without the mechanic job. Ivy donators will also be able to have 5 vehicles spawned. We are also offering every Rose donator a free upgrade to Ivy!

You can now also donate for lands! Small lands come at a cost of $30 and large lands cost $50!

The land system allows players to actually own a piece of land and build whatever you like on the land! And I mean anything! You can buy objects and place it on your land - you can create your own house, office, skyscrapper or gang HQ or faction HQ or anything you can imagine. Hello fellow member of Lawless Roleplay.

The mapping team has been idle for a while now, but we have tasks running but low on mapping staff. We are now hosting a mapping contest for Lawless Roleplay where the prize is the Head Mapper title itself! So be creative! The contest starts from today and ends 14th of September 2013.

RULES & REGULATION
  1. Absolutely all mapping submitted in the contest must be made by you, and only you. If you copy from someone else you will be banned.
  2. The mapping must have context, which means there should a purpose with every object you add.
  3. You must follow the instructions.
  4. Must have been a member of the community for at least one month, and must be fairly active. Not that much is required.
  5. Having experience doesn't hurt.

WHAT HAPPENS AFTERWARD?
After your map has been submitted and sent to Shock, he and a selected jury will review the maps after the contest has ended and will nominate three mappers based out of several criterias. After they have been nominated, they will then be given another task but with a time limit of 3 days. When they have completed the task a winner will be selected and announced in a new thread. Being a Head Mapper is considered a Staff Position, and will be given access to Staff Forums.

Rules
A lot of community members have advised the administrative team that the game server is missing vital rules or that there is miscommunication between what’s allowed and what isn’t. We have created a brand new page on our site carefully detailing the game server rules.

Forum warnings
The entire administrative team have been in the past month been under heavy fire from a huge group within the community. They have constantly protested against the hate speech posted by some members of the community. We will now actively enforce forum rules by issuing rule breakers warnings. The consequences are:
  • 2 Warnings – Your connection to the forum will be sub-standard
  • 4 Warnings – Temporary banned for one week
  • 6 Warnings – Temporary banned for two weeks
  • 8 Warnings – Banned until your warnings expire
  • 10 Warnings – Permanently banned

Update! Welcome back...
Hey guys,

Sorry about the elongated delay of getting the forums back on track. The main reason behind the delay was that our database was a huge 16.4GB! I spent a large portion of my day decreasing the database size to 300MB.

I hope you all enjoy the new forums, the web site design seems to be the same however I spent 16 hours on rescripting it from scratch to meet the new standard and requirements of our forum software. We are very proud of this achievement!

The list of new features includes:
  • New Editor, this is the thing you see before you post messages / threads. It's much better than the last one.
  • User Group Banners, despite how much I loved our old banners I made the templates I modified were reset and I don't feel like adding them back. Instead we have banners however I haven't enabled them yet
  • Forums Removed! I removed unneeded forums and cleaned everything up
  • Drafts! As you type your messages will be saved as drafts. Not really major but nice
  • New Smilies! If you click the smilies face on the redactor you can see all of them!
  • Plenty more features that I have no energy to describe after scripting for nearly 20 hours, click for the full feature list.
